Nah, too much RWD bias. And I gotta admit, as long as we're talking about beaters that will end up being driven into the ditch, i kinda agree with the RWD bias, just because i think it's ultimately going to be more fun to beat the shit out of RWD cars.

Not to say i dont love me some CRX, because c'mon they're awesome. But i'd rather say...destroy a crown vic on a dirt road than a CRX, despite the little honda being more fun 90 percent of the time in real driving (and the car i'd rather own)

I just think of how impossible it is to destroy a 80s/90s Honda. And also, to me, lighter will always equal funner. Can I pull off massive Tokyo Drifts in a CRX? No, but it will be small and fleet footed enough to dart through traffic and still carve the back roads. The epitome of everything a beater should be.

I've made several disparaging comments about BMW, and my wish for my buddy to not get one. But I've expressed a love for VW and Audi. It's generally just BMW that I'm not impressed with. I know VAG is no more reliable, but they generally tend to come with less self-righteous drivers.

Your original point was all German cars. I voted for the Jetta. And I even voted for the E36, because it's from back when they were reliable, and the ownership costs would be realistically doable. But good to know that I've got a name for myself :)
